Bridgestone Supports DRK With New Vehicle Fleet Tyres to Help with the Flood Disaster in Ahrtal

New Vehicle Fleet Tyres

Bridgestone Germany has again given flood relief at local level by equipping the DRK local associations of Bad-Neuenahr-Ahrweiler emergency vehicle fleet with new tyres to help the affected regions get back on their feet.

A Cause Close to the Heart of Bridgestone Germany

Only recently, Bridgestone Germany, based in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, provided commercial vehicle tyres worth EUR 100,000 to give the numerous flood helpers on-site a helping hand. Private individuals and companies who suffered tyre damage on their commercial vehicles during relief operations as part of the environmental disaster had the opportunity to contact Bridgestone to order the corresponding tyres, which were expedited by the manufacturer.

The DRK’s emergency vehicles within the Bad-Neuenahr-Ahrweiler regions have been used continuously since the beginning of the flood disaster. At various times, the vehicle tyres were heavily used, often pierced with nails several times and poorly repaired. That is why Bridgestone got involved, helping to quickly equip the vehicles with new and reliable tyres.

“We would like to thank Bridgestone for their immediate support with the donation of new tyre sets for the DRK’s vehicles. These were urgently needed to ensure the safety of our helpers during the deployment,” says Andreas Müller, an Assistant at the DRK local association Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

“With our tyre donation to the local DRK association based in Bad-Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, we wanted to tie in with our latest flood relief campaign and offer the many extremely committed helpers support where it was needed,” noted Christian Mühlhäuser, Managing Director Bridgestone Central Europe.

“The DRK local association Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler base is located in the middle of the damaged area affected by the flood. Many employees were involved in flood operations voluntarily from the beginning. Their tireless commitment can hardly be appreciated enough. As a company with a strong security mission statement, we have a responsibility and, as part of our CSR commitment ‘Our Way to Serve’, we want to help ensure that people continue to get to their destination as safely as possible even in difficult times.”
