Michelin Updates TruckFly, the Free App to Accompany Carriers

Michelin TruckFly Free App

In the face of the new health context marked by the Coronavirus pandemic, Michelin updated its free TruckFly application, offering updated information and new services to accompany transporters on their routes on European roads.

Michelin’s Truckfly App Helping Carriers During Pandemic

Continuing to travel European roads during this new wave of the coronavirus pandemic is not easy for carriers. How to find the right place to stop to refuel, eat or rest? Where can you access up-to-date and accurate information? How to benefit from the advice of members of a community with the same needs? How to share information? To answer all of these questions and make day-to-day life easier, Michelin has fortified its commitment to road professionals by updating its TruckFly app.

Available for free in 44 countries, this application, created in 2015, allows carriers to access all of the information they may need. With 500,000 downloads since its launch and more than 120,000 new European users every month, the TruckFly community is one of the largest on this continent, and is particularly active in countries such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Belgium.

Since the beginning of the health crisis, information on more than 4,500 restaurants has been updated, including more than 1,000 since the end of October. Every month, drivers refer around 70 new restaurants in Europe. An interactive map allows you to easily identify the establishments where you can stop to eat or rest, as well as the closed restaurants (with gray pictograms in the case of temporary closure).

In addition to the information transmitted by the entire community, the TruckFly team consistently works to keep the information up to date and provide the maximum support to the carriers via:

  • The application: indications at the different points of interest encourage app users to indicate the establishments that offer take away food;
  • Through social networks: TruckFly transmits to the community information published by the owners of the restaurants, to be shared;
  • On the truckfly.com website: Restaurants, service stations and other property owners are encouraged to update their information on a regular basis.

With this application, Michelin wants to support transport and catering companies in the search for solutions that allow them to continue their business activity.
