Michelin has presented its new XHA3 tyre designed to help operators improve productivity, reduce operating costs and simplify tyre management across a wide range of applications.

New XHA3 Tyre

Designed for loaders, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and graders, the Michelin XHA3 combines durability, versatility and productivity-enhancing technologies, including Michelin Visual Pressure Control, a new patent-pending visual inflation indicator integrated into the tyre sidewall.

Clifford de Jager, CES Technical Manager, Beyond Road – Mining, Construction, Material Handling at Michelin, says: “The Michelin XHA3 builds on the proven success of the Michelin XHA2. It has been developed specifically to meet the demands of increasingly powerful construction equipment and the growing need for machine uptime.

“Designed to perform across varied terrains – from mud to asphalt, including aggressive environments – the Michelin XHA3 is engineered to support fast and intensive operating cycles. This versatility helps simplify fleet management and reduce inventory complexity by limiting the number of tyre specifications required across mixed fleets.”

The new XHA3 offers a multi-machine design that covers E3, L3, and G3 applications, aiming to deliver productivity for loaders and ADTs while supporting operational flexibility across construction sites. Its design and structure provide up to 20% greater wear life compared with the previous generations, while improving stability, operator comfort and vibration reduction. Thanks to its versatile casing architecture, the XHA3 supports a high level of retreadability as well.

The XHA3 is also the first tyre in the Michelin range to feature Michelin Visual Pressure control, designed to support routine vehicle inspections, where maintaining correct tyre pressure remains essential for safety, productivity and regulatory compliance. The system provides a visual indication of the tyre’s inflation status without the need for electronic sensors, monitoring devices, or other external equipment, helping operators quickly identify whether a tyre may require pressure adjustment with a simple visual check.

New tread design, featuring increased rubber volume, has been designed to reduce tyre-related maintenance costs while extending service life. A reinforced bead area allows the tyre to accommodate the demands of high-torque machinery and delivers up to 20% additional load capacity, depending on tyre size. The new four-block tread pattern and progressive shoulder radius improve traction across multiple vehicle types and applications. Michelin estimates that the Michelin XHA3 can deliver approximately 16% lower TCO compared with its predecessor.

The new tyre will be introduced to the UK market in several dimensions: 29.5 R25 (October 2026), 23.5 R25 (October 2026), and 26.5 R25 (January 2027).
