With a double whammy of high raw materials and escalating freight costs, Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has confirmed that it will increase its prices slightly, with the rest of the additional costs forecast absorbed by the tyre manufacturer.
YOHT Keeps Price Increases low in Uncertain Times
“Freight costs are factors we cannot control. We are feeling the increase as well, especially with this third freight surcharge since March 2021 totalling EUR 3,250 per container,” explains Prabhakar Garimella, Head of the East for YOHT Europe. Although this is the fifth market increase since April 2021, Koen van Gemert, Head of Finance – Europe, at YOHT, adds, “We at YOHT always think about our business partners and how to reduce their burden.”
“Being transparent and maintaining a realistic balance between market expectations and factors such as costs is very important to us. Closely communicating with our business partners, especially during these tough times, is something we value greatly at YOHT,” concludes Ole Baek – Head of the North of Europe and France.
