Yokohama has launched a voluntary recall of certain 126S 385/55R22.5 158L truck tyres after identifying a manufacturing issue that could lead to sidewall cracking and potential air loss.
A Voluntary Replacement Program
According to a safety alert published by German authorities under the EU Safety Gate system, irregular production geometry may cause cracks to develop in the tyre shoulder. In rare cases, these cracks could spread to the tyre carcass, resulting in a loss of air pressure and increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.
The recall affects Yokohama tyres produced between 1 January 2023 and 1 October 2025, with serial numbers beginning FBVHYYY and ending between 0123 and 3925. These Yokohama tyres, manufactured in Japan, carry article number B5103 and are approved under E454R00/2344429*00 (C3).
Yokohama is asking customers to inspect affected tyres immediately and contact their tyre dealer or the company’s support centre to arrange a free replacement.
The recall came into effect on 11 June 2026, with Germany notifying the measure under the EU Safety Gate system. The company said the voluntary replacement programme reflects its commitment to safety and quality and that it is taking steps to prevent similar issues from recurring.
