The Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (Ministery for Agriculture, Fishing and Food) in Spain has published its latest registration figures for the month of August for agricultural machinery with the main takeaway that across all segments 2022 is still behind where we were one year ago.
Andalucia Continues to be Most Popular Region for Tractor Registrations
According to the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, tractor registrations hit 726 units for August representing a minor -0.68% drop on last August. As for the year-to-date numbers, the tractor market is still -12.51% down on 2022 after 8 months of year, with 6,343 units registered. As is commonplace, Andalucía remains the most active region in Spain with 161 registrations over the course of the month.
As for the automotive machinery segment, 124 units were registered which was 22.77% ahead of August in 2021, but the picture remains negative when we look at the year-to-date statistics with 1,093 units registered representing a -3.53% drop. Castilla La Mancha was the most active region for this segment in August with 31 registrations taking place.
Towed and suspended machinery also registered a year-on-year decline of -8.56% with 919 units registered during the month. This drop was an accurate representation of what we have so far to date in 2022 with the year-to-date figures still -10.72% in arrears against 2021 following the end of the month. Andalucía saw 157 registrations in this segment for the month with Castilla y León not too far behind with 144 units recorded.
