ATS Euromaster Gain Removals Company Contract
Malcolm Logistics signs 5-year contract with Goodyear Dunlop
Lancashire-based removals and logistics specialist Andrew Porter Ltd has called on the expertise of ATS
the fleet.
Fairport Garages is serviced by ATS Euromaster’s Westhoughton centre,
Malcolm Logistics, the
leading provider of logistics, construction and
maintenance services, has
signed a 5-year deal with
Goodyear Dunlop. As part of
the deal, the company will fit
more than 1000 trailers and
300 tractor units with
Goodyear’s RHS II on the
steer axle, TreadMax RHD II
retreads on the driven axles, TreadMax RHT II on the 1st &
2nd trailer axles, with RHT II
new on the 3rd axle. The company will also take
advantage of Goodyear Dunlop’s dedicated TruckForce service to help reduce breakdown times and improve customer service. Commenting on the decision to switch to Goodyear, Steven Sugden, Fleet Engineer at Malcolm Logistics said: “After a visit to Goodyear’s Wolverhampton Retread plant I was impressed by the inspection processes and quality of the finished product. In addition to this Treadmax only uses first life Goodyear casings and the tread compound and patterns are the same as the new product, which gave us confidence they would deliver similar mileages and fuel saving benefits to the new product range. We also used the new tyre labeling legislation to give a guide into the rolling resistance capabilities of all the new tyres considered. As part of the long-term agreement, Malcolm Logistics has agreed to specify all new equipment on Goodyear products and both parties have agreed to enter into trials, to evaluate new products and the impact of these on increased tyre mileages and lower fuel costs. Arnold Clark Extends Michelin Contract
One of the UK’s largest independent contract hire and leasing companies, Arnold Clark Vehicle Management, has renewed its Michelin tyre policy until 2015 – a deal likely to see 25,000 replacement tyres fitted per year.
The leasing company has gradually increased its fitment of Michelin tyres over the past 12 years, and the extended contract cements Michelin as first choice fit on its fleet of 35,000 cars and vans.
Michelin Key Account Manager, Andrew Guile, said: “Arnold Clark Vehicle Management has been a valued customer of ours for more than a decade, so we are delighted to have secured their business for a further two years and look forward to continuing our partnership.”
Based in Glasgow, Arnold Clark Vehicle Management offers a wide range of vehicle makes and models for contract hire and leasing throughout the UK. The company is part of the Arnold Clark Group, which also operates 145 car sales dealerships and more than 120 service centres nationwide.
TruckForce Wins Heron Foods Contract
TruckForce has announced that it has secured the servicing contract for the successful family owned food retailer, Heron Foods. The deal, which incorporates a complete tyre care programme to ensure Heron Foods get the optimum performance from their tyres, will see TruckForce service all of the retailer’s fleet vehicles and trailers.
Heron Foods, based in Yorkshire, operates from 235 stores throughout the North of England and the Midlands, offering a range of frozen, chilled and grocery products. Peter Marshall of Heron Foods, said: “TruckForce
were a perfect match for us, they worked with us to develop a tailored package to really help our business. Their expertise in tyre management should help lower the cost of operating our vehicles by extending the tyre life and therefore reducing the unnecessary spend on tyres.”
