       Tyre Policy Overhaul Creates Savings for B&W Transport
Stoke-on-Trent-based haulier B&W Transport has chosen ATS Euromaster to fit and service the tyres on its fleet of 44 tonners after the national tyre specialist proved that a properly managed tyre policy could save the family business thousands of pounds on its annual vehicle operating costs.

much money we could save, not just on our tyre bill but through improved fuel efficiency from fitting better quality tyres and really looking after them, it seemed like an obvious choice.” Since optimising its fitment strategy, ATS Euromaster has commenced routine fleet inspections conducted by skilled technicians from its local centre, located just eight miles away, fitting a mixture of Michelin and Pirelli tyres to the fleet.

John Kinge, technical director of Safecontractor said, "Major

More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that TFM has done. New Kormoran Tyre Range Launched
Kormoran is expanding its latest range of commercial vehicle tyres to include three new tread patterns available exclusively from Michelin Truck Professional (MTP) dealerships in the UK and Republic of Ireland. This introduction of these new steer and drive pattern tyres marks the most significant Kormoran product launch for nearly a decade and replaces a previous generation of tyre which has been on sale for ten years. The new tyres are designed for use on road and are suitable for all lengths of journey, featuring an optimised contact patch for excellent mileage potential.
The new range includes a
225/75 R 17.5 for medium
weight rigid trucks and midi- coaches, and the 295/80 R
22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5 for
heavy trucks and coaches.
Both the 225/75 and
315/80 steer tyres are
categorised B in wet
braking according to the
European tyre labelling
regulation, whilst the
295/80 steer fitment,
along with all three drive
axle sizes are rated C.
Adding to the excellent
braking capability of
these tyres is the M+S
(Mud + Snow) rating of
all of the drive tyres,
whilst the larger 295/80
and 315/80 drive tyres
feature the new Three Peaks Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol on the sidewall – a
further indication of their traction qualities when driving on snow.

The three new sizes join the 235/75 R 17.5 and 285/70 R 19.5 versions of the same Kormoran tyre, which were introduced during 2012.
