Apollo Tyres Launches New A-rated ‘EnduMile LHT’

Apollo Endumile

Apollo Tyres is to enter Europe’s Long-Haul Trailer (LHT) sector with the launch of its new ‘EnduMile LHT trailer tyre’. The new product is A-rated for rolling resistance and has been developed specifically to outperform the established best-selling and best-performing products in the LHT segment.

The EnduMile LHT features a broad and stable contact patch that optimises pressure distribution, and an all-new blend of polymers and fillers to minimise rolling resistance while delivering consistent levels of grip on wet surfaces. The tyre’s innovative compound also helps to manage temperature changes during prolonged use to maintain its superior performance characteristics and aid durability.

The tyre’s ‘free-rolling’ tread pattern includes a compact centre rib to assist roadholding, curb noise and ensure efficient operation. A strong carcass facilitates retreadability for lower whole-life costs.

A 24-month design, development and test programme – one of the most comprehensive ever implemented for an Apollo-brand product – has been led by Apollo Tyres’ European R&D team based in the Netherlands. Alongside extensive computer-aided simulation, a demanding real-world test schedule has helped validate the tyre’s dynamic capabilities and durability in a wide range of climates and on varied road conditions across the continent.

This is the first time an Apollo truck tyre has been A-rated for rolling resistance; other truck-segment products from the company have been given the maximum performance rating for other criteria, including wet grip and noise.

“This represents a significant step forward for our brand in the truck market,” comments John Nikhil Joy, Cluster Director Europe – Truck & Bus Tyres, at Apollo Tyres. “As well as taking us into the important long-haul segment, the EnduMile LHT sets new standards for rolling resistance, performance and durability, allowing us to compete with the leading products in the market and provide operators with a cost-effective, premium-quality solution for the most demanding high-mileage applications.”

Manufactured at Apollo Tyres’ advanced production facility in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary, the new EnduMile LHT will be available to customers across Europe from early 2023
