Spanish Light Commercial Vehicle Market Records Drop in February 2022

With 9,449 light commercial vehicles registered in February this amounts to a 27.1% drop, against 12,962 units in February 2021 in figures released by la Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (ANFAC)
Drop Sees Market Down 27% on 2021 Levels
With 16,388 LCVs registered in the first two months of 2022, this is lower than the 22,509 units for January-February 2021. The region with the most registrations was the Comunidad de Madrid with 3,629 LCVs, while Cataluña and Andalucía came second and third with 1,238 and 1,035 units registered, respectively.
For industrial vehicles and buses, the market fared better, with a combined 1% increase on industrial vehicles sales with 1,865 new units registered and buses with 157 new registrations. Breaking the statistics down further, industrial vehicle sales are currently 7.1% ahead of 2021 with a total of 3,993 units registered, whilst bus sales are 16.6% ahead at the same stage in the previous year. The Comunidad de Madrid scored first place for both industrial vehicle and bus sales with 405 and 55 units sold respectively. Meanwhile Andalucía placed in second for industrial vehicle and bus sales, with 313 new registrations in total.
