BKT Looks to the Differences Between Its Radial and Bias Tyres

BKT Radial Bias Tyres

BKT Tires explains that increased strength, extended life cycle, high productivity, fuel economy and the overall structure make radial tyres the popular choice for agricultural equipment, although they stress every situation is different.

BKT Looks to Different Situations Involving Radial and Bias Tyres

BKT Tires is analysing which tyre suits which application and which tyre is best for factors such as rolling resistance and circumference and structure. Due to their structure, radial solutions offer lower rolling resistance, ensuring less and more uniform wear and tear compared to bias solutions, allowing for greater fuel savings for farmers.

Radial tyres are characterised by a larger footprint on the ground than bias solutions. This better distributes the weight of the equipment while at the same time limiting the compaction of agricultural soil, preserving the well-being of crops and increasing crop yield.

For lower pressure, radial tyres have a higher load capacity than bias solutions. As is now common knowledge, radial tyres equipped with VF and IF technologies can carry heavier loads at a lower pressure than standard tyres. Bias tyres have to operate at maximum pressure, however, to avoid causing damage.

Finally, radial tyres can reach speeds of up to over 40 km/h with the correct tyre pressures, allowing users to optimise travel times and thus speeding up operations.

BKT Unveils Its Radial Solutions

For BKT’s radial solutions, the RIB 713, steel-belt tyre is equipped with IF technology capable of supporting heavier loads at lower tyre pressures. The tyre also has a larger tyre footprint with uniform weight distribution while also reducing soil compaction. The belted steel structure guarantees heightened puncture resistance and therefore greater protection against the penetration of rubble.

The All Steel SR 713 radial tyre with VF technology has a sturdy casing with multilayer steel belts and a tread with a multiple groove design to guarantee low rolling resistance. In addition to the uniform wear and tear of the tread, the wide tyre footprint ensures reduced soil compaction.

Finally, the AW 711 has been designed specifically for large equipment intended for tillage and sowing. Some sizes are available in the standard version, whereas others are equipped with IF or VF technology. Thanks to the special tread compound, the AW 711 ensures a long product life cycle, whether used on soft or hard surfaces. Low rolling resistance when travelling by road ensures fuel consumption savings.

BKT Offers Bias Tyres with Solid Wear and Tear Resistance

Suitable for diverse uses, be it from moving on lawns to transporting fodder, passing through hay bale presses.

The I-1 is a high-speed tyre designed specifically for transport in the field and on the road, able to optimise travel times. The special tread pattern ensures a prolonged life cycle, even in adverse conditions and with the presence of stubble in the field.

For the RIB 774 line of tyres, these tyres are suitable for round and big balers and include the models, RIB 774 (A)RIB 774 (B) and RIB 774 (C), which share a long life cycle and high load capacity.

Finally, the AW 708 solution stands out and is particularly resistant to cuts, tears and stubble. Some sizes are also available in the “Special” version with an ultra-resistant compound, and in the “Stubble resistant” version which ensures extraordinary resistance to stubble, finalising the wide range of options that BKT Tires offers its customers.
