Digital Tyre Checking with Goodyear and Grupo Soledad

Goodyear and Grupo Soledad partner up to offer the latest innovations in mobility to their fleets with the installation of a Checkpoint.
Goodyear and Grupo Soledad Offering the Latest Solutions
Grupo Soledad, which has one of the most important networks of specialist tyre workshops in Spain and is a member of the Goodyear TruckForce network, will install the Goodyear automated tyre analysis system in one of its workshops for the first time in Spain.
Since January 2021, small fleets have had access to Goodyear Total Mobility solutions in the group's extensive network of workshops in Spain thanks to Grupo Soledad's CONNECT programme. Now, the group is going a step further in providing the latest mobility solutions for its fleets by installing the Goodyear Checkpoint system in its Confort Auto truck workshop in Zona Franca, Barcelona. A system capable of automatically analysing the condition of the tyres in just seconds.
The Goodyear Checkpoint will offer all trucks and heavy vehicles an express tyre check service. In addition, all fleets will be able to automatically obtain digital reports of all vehicles that pass through the Checkpoint, a pioneering model for the marketing of unique maintenance.
Goodyear's award-winning Checkpoint system consists of a ground-mounted sensor plate that measures tyre pressure, remaining tread depth, axle load and total vehicle weight as it passes over. Every time a vehicle returns to your facility, the system can read the license plate and provide a complete, time-stamped overview of all key parameters within seconds. Not only does it provide the necessary data and highlight any immediate issues, but the predictive technology also analyses the data to prevent any future issues.
This innovative system developed by Goodyear not only allows fleets to be more agile and efficient, but it also brings many benefits such as reduced vehicle downtime due to tyre-related breakdowns thanks to regular tyre checks or reduced errors due to process automation. In addition, maintaining the correct tyre pressure at all times also helps increase tyre life, reduce fuel consumption, and improve driver safety.
Antonio Cury, General Director of Industrial Vehicles at Goodyear Iberia underlined; “Grupo Soledad is pioneering the implementation of transport solutions hand in hand with Goodyear. A relationship that advances with a single goal: to meet the demands of our fleets with innovative services and solutions that facilitate and simplify their daily work.”
