ANFAC Publish June Registrations Figures for LCVs, Industrial Vehicles and Buses in Spain

La Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (ANFAC) has released its latest registration figures for June 2022 as they were monthly increases for industrial vehicles and buses whilst a significant drop for light commercial vehicles.

42.1% Drop in June for Light Commercial Vehicles

Starting with LCVs, ANFAC announced that 4,634 units were registered in June which was 42.1% down on what we saw in June 2021. As far as the year-to-date figures are concerned the LCV segment, ANFAC has reported that is 45.2% behind 2021 at the same stage with 26,562 registrations during 2022. The regions seeing the most activity were Madrid and Cataluña with 4,562 and 1,142 registrations respectively.

The industrial vehicle segment saw 1,926 registrations in June, 25.6% ahead of 2021's performance. Iveco, Renault Trucks and Mercedes were the leading manufacturers with 453, 302 and 265 units recorded respectively for each brand. The Comunidad de Madrid was once again led the way in terms of activity with 524 units sold. At the end of Q2, the industrial vehicle segment leads 2021's benchmark by 5.1%.

Moving on the bus segment recorded a 5.3% jump in registrations with 178 units sold with Scania and MAN responsible for most sales. The 5.3% increase on June 2021's registrations trails the 48.7% year-to-date improvement which the overall bus sector sees. These increases continue to point to increasing confidence in public transport after the pandemic.

Aránzazu Mur, the Director of Economy and Logistics of ANFAC, "the market is still unable to stabilise with sales to end-users rebounding the previous month fell back slightly due to economic uncertainty and the microchip crisis that continues to affect production in Spain and Europe and delays the arrival of vehicles to sales points. Similarly, the rise in fuel prices and the increase in inflation are factors which are shaping demand and will affect the recovery of sales in coming months. In this context, it is a positive to see the performance of the industrial vehicle and bus sectors which consolidate positive figures from earlier in the year."
