New Leadership for Continental’s Truck Tyre Business in the Americas

Continental’s new leadership structure for the Truck Tyres business has been announced. The Truck Tyres segment accounts for medium/heavy commercial tyres, particularly truck and bus radial tyres. Renato Sarzano is now head of the Truck Tyes business for the Americas, and Shaun Uys leads the fleet-focused Key Account Management organisation in the United States.

In 1998, Sarzano joined Continental Tires Brazil, and was most recently serving as head of the Tyres business in the Mercosur market region, made up of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. He succeeds Paul Williams, who has taken an opportunity with company headquarters in Germany.

“I am pleased to take the leadership of the Truck Tyre business for the Americas,” said Sarzano. “We have many opportunities to focus on synergy and efficient growth. We continue to focus our attention on our customers, putting them at the center of everything we do.”

As part of this customer-centric approach, Continental has implemented a new structure for its North American truck tyre sales team to expand on diverse customers and channels. The Key Account Management team, lead by Shaun Uys, groups all activities pertaining to strategic fleet and original equipment business. Uys joined Continental Tyre South Africa in 2000, most recently serving as their managing director.

“I am glad to be back in the U.S. and look forward to developing relationships with our key fleet and OE partners here,” said Uys. “Continental is committed to providing the technology of the future and an agile approach to meet the needs of our OE partners, and delivering the lowest overall driving cost for our fleets. We want to exceed expectations as a solutions provider.”
