Michelin Temporarily Suspend Activities in Spain

Michelin

Michelin has announced the temporary suspension of its activities in order to protect its employees, partners and subsidiaries as they look to protect those exposed to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Cause Michelin to Suspend Operations

Due to this, Michelin has adopted a series of preventative measures in a progressive form that prohibits movements and visits. These measures also include cancelling meetings, training sessions, as well as implementing other strategies to prevent infection. Last week, Michelin decided that all of the personnel working in Tres Cantos, Illescas and Portugal could work from home.

Considering the way events have developed and as a preventative measure to safeguard the health and safety of its workers and families, Michelin has decided to stop all of its activities in España throughout Monday the 16th of March in the factories of Lasarte (Guipúzcoa), Vitoria (Álava), Aranda de Duero (Burgos), Valladolid and in Almería.

Initially the company will cease its activities in the best and quickest way possible for a minimum of 8 days. The planned date to restart manufacturing will be determined in accordance with how events develop.

Michelin's management is continuously in contact with workers to agree the best way to continue implementing these measures that have also been taken by Michelin's factories in France and Italy
