Michelin's management in Spain has confirmed that it plans to extend its suspension of industrial activities.

Suspension of Business in Spain Extended by Michelin

Following the measures adopted by Michelin in Spain in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, the company has decided to extend the suspension of its industrial activities in the country. The suspension that was originally planned for 8 days since the 16th of March will be prolonged for at least another week.

Commercial and distribution activities will remain active during this period with a large number of staff working from home.

The decision means that the factories at Lasarte-Oria (Guipúzcoa), Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava), Aranda de Duero (Burgos) and Valladolid, as well as The Experience Centre in Almería will remain closed.

Michelin's management is maintaining daily contact with worker's representatives in order to study the different ways in which they can manage their personnel in terms of working from home, holidays, and individual and collective flexibility considering the unparalleled circumstances which they are facing.

The company has finally reminded its respect the measures set out by the authorities to protect their health, families and that as a society as a whole in order to help the situation resolve itself as quickly as possible.
