Vacu-Lug Shows Diverse Face to the CV Market

Vacu-Lug’s presence at this year’s CV Show focused on showing the Grantham based company to be much more than a leading retreaders, but as a supplier of a complete range of tyres and services to fleet managers.

A good proportion of the stand was taken up by the Westlake brand of truck tyres, which the company has championed in recent years. Equally important, though, was the company’s range of services to fleets. Pride of place at the front of the stand was a display devoted to the company’s recently developed tyre management app, designed to provide fingertip access to fleet information via Android and IOS mobiles and tablets.

VMS Mobile provides access to inspection history going back to contract commencement, job history, detailing all transactions by vehicle or wheel position, any work required as a result of findings made during monthly electronic fleet inspections, current and historical tread depths along with the tyre brands fitted at each wheel position, and a display of graphical reports of a fleet’s monthly tyre consumption, the split between service and tyre costs, monthly expenditure, inspection hit rate, missed vehicles and a profile of tread depths across the customer’s entire inspected fleet.

One area Vacu-Lug were particularly keen to focus on was the company’s commitment to recycling, and with this in mind, the company showed a display of recycled tyre crumb, emphasising Vacu-Lug’s partnership with Murfitts in the area of tyre recycling and stressing the company’s commitment to environmentally friend tyre disposal and recycling.
