ADINE Meets with the European Commission

On the 25th of September 2017, The National Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADNIE), who represent a large majority of tyre importers in Spain, met with representatives of the European Commission based in Brussels.
ADINE decided to request this meeting following the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union of “an anti-dumping proceeding concerning the imports of new and retreaded tyres for buses or lorries originating from the People´s Republic of China”. Following the aforementioned publication, ADINE, as an interested stakeholder in the import of tyres and in defending the rights and interests of their associates, appeared in the aforesaid investigation file being considered for all effects as a party thereto.
The meeting with the representatives of the European Commission aimed to corroborate all of the relative questions to the initial phase of the investigation, especially for the tyres in question and to furthermore share the diverse points of view that ADINE have with respect to the issue. The members of the European Commission reported on the status of the investigation file, as well as the aspects of points investigated on the date of the meeting and the possible consequences that the EU would adopt in the event of the reported dumping.
The outcome of the meeting was very positive and in the same way ADINE has translated to the European Commission its willingness to collaborate in the processing of the investigation file and to that end become the valid spokesperson with respect to all of the businesses associated that want or are interested in the investigation.
