Italian figures released by ANIFA ( Italian Automotive manufacturers Association) show a mixed bag of results. Light commercial vehicles showed a 20.5 per cent drop in September, confirming a 10.3 per cent year to date drop compared to the previous year to date.

Heavy trucks beat the decline with a 7 per cent increase, but the year to date increase is marginal at 0.6 per cent.
North Western Italy showed the most resliance in the market with a small increase in sales of 3.3 per cent in the year to date.
Semi-heavy trailers were up, both in September by 18.8 per cent, and overall on the year to date by 15.4 per cent.
The bus segment showed a month on month increase of 32 per cent, but overall on the year to date there is still a decline of 9.4 per cent. Again, the North Western region is the best performing market. With the South of Italy and the Islands seeing a 33.3 per cent year on year drop in registrations.
