Giti Tire has unveiled “Europe’s first truck tyre to achieve an ‘A’ grade for Rolling Resistance Coefficient (RRC),” with the launch of the new Giti GDL272 Ecoroad drive tyre.
New Giti GDL272 Truck Tyre
Available immediately in size 315/70R22.5, the Giti GDL272 is the first product in a new Ecoroad range designed to help fleets reduce fuel consumption and lower CO₂ emissions. It will be joined later this year by the Giti GSL271 Ecoroad steer tyre and the Giti GTL273 Ecoroad trailer tyre, both scheduled for release in the fourth quarter.
The full Ecoroad line-up will make its exhibition debut at The Tire Cologne 2026.
Designed specifically for long-haul highway operations, the latest tyres from Giti feature a new silica-based tread compound that reduces tyre hysteresis and heat generation, helping to lower energy loss, operating temperatures and fuel use. According to Giti, the compound also delivers strong wet grip, traction, mileage and durability.
The tyres have undergone extensive field testing with a leading European fleet to validate performance under real-world operating conditions. Development of the Ecoroad range was led by Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.
