There were 30,350 new registrations for March 2022, meaning that the German Commercial Vehicle market saw a 20% year-on-year drop in registrations according to the latest figures released by the VDA.
Semi-Trailer Market Continues to Defy Expectations, Although all Other Sectors Fall
Starting with commercial vehicles weighing up to 6 tonnes, 22,578 units were registered, which represented a 22% drop on March 2021 levels, where 29,067 units were registered.
Buses saw a 9% decline, with 385 units registered against 422 in March 2021.
Trailers totalled 35,895 units which made for a 9% decrease on March 2021’s 39,616 units. Looking further into the trailer figures, semi-trailers scored a strong 20% increase, with 3,925 units against 3,261 units from the year before.
Exports tumbled by a noticeable 37%, from 10,370 units in March 2021 to 16,434 units, while production saw a reduced fall of 20% at 17,380 units, against 21,805 from the previous March.
