Bridgestone is supporting the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) of the Rheingau-Taunus district with a tyre donation to help ensure reliable mobility for the organisation’s disaster relief support unit.

Reliable Mobility for ASB Disaster Relief Operations

The premium tyre manufacturer is providing a set of Bridgestone Duravis All Season EVO tyres for the unit’s new incident command vehicle. The vehicle serves as a mobile command post and plays a vital role in coordinating operations.

The ASB Rheingau-Taunus support unit assists people in distress both regionally and beyond, while also providing medical support services at major local events. For example, the team was deployed for several weeks during the Ahr Valley flood disaster and also operated at the Polish-Ukrainian border. There, they provided affected people with emergency shelter, electricity and food, as well as initial psychological support.

Decommissioned Fire Engine Becomes Mobile Command Post

The previous incident command vehicle required urgent replacement this year. To address this, the ASB acquired a decommissioned vehicle from the Dietzenbach Fire Department. Following refurbishment, it will now support disaster relief operations as a new mobile command post.

Lutz Kleinwächter, a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), facilitated the connection to the ASB. DHBW partners with Bridgestone on its dual-study programmes, while Kleinwächter also volunteers for the ASB Rheingau-Taunus.

Bridgestone Premium Tyres Ensure Reliable Mobility for Operations

Bridgestone is providing a set of Bridgestone Duravis All Season EVO tyres for the new incident command vehicle operated by the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) Rheingau-Taunus. Bridgestone handed over the tyres to Wagner, the site manager responsible for disaster control in the Rheingau-Taunus district.

With this contribution, Bridgestone is helping emergency personnel maintain reliable mobility across a range of weather and road conditions.
