Durability and Downtime Reduction
Glennon Brothers supplies both the Irish and UK markets with a wide range of timber solutions — from kiln-dried, strength-graded carcassing to pallet wood, Canadian Lumber Standard (CLS), and machined whitewoods for the construction and garden shed industries. Its operations span across a 65-acre main site in Fermoy and additional locations in Longford and the UK and the logistics are intensive and non-stop. The business operates 13 forklifts and loading vehicles across multiple shifts and sites, moving vast quantities of produce daily. In such a demanding environment, tyre performance is vital to achieving maximum efficiency.

In 2023, Continental and ITS (Industrial Tyre Specialists) visited their Fermoy site and introduced Glennon Brothers to Continental’s range of solid and earthmover tyres. Their promise of longer-wearing tyres and greater comfort for heavy-duty use immediately resonated with the needs of the operational team at Glennon.
Continental tyres immediately stood out for their robust design, and their performance has subsequently exceeded expectations, achieving more than double the lifespan of the previous tyres the business used. Since switching to Continental tyres, the company has seen a 50% reduction in downtime. ITS’s fast, reliable service for supplying and fitting replacements has also allowed Glennon to reduce tyre stockholding, improving both their maintenance planning and budgeting.
