According to the latest Mobility Sweden statistics, light truck registrations have been declining for 14 consecutive months, with the association changing the 2025 forecast from 40,000 to 38,000 newly registered light trucks.

Light truck registrations declined by 10% in June 2025, with a total of 3,676 new units registered. The light truck segment declined by 23% in the first six months of 2025, with 16,706 registrations. Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Toyota were among the most purchased vehicles in this category.
Heavy truck registrations declined by around 14% in June 2025, with 431 vehicles registered. The first six months of 2025 show an 8% decline, with 2,568 units registered during that period. Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, MAN and DAF were among the most purchased heavy trucks in Sweden in June 2025.
The bus market continues to develop strongly in Sweden, with 249 buses registered in June 2025, an increase of 507%. During the first six months of the year, new registrations have more than tripled and amount to 922 buses (222% growth compared to the same period last year), which exceeds the annual outcome of 783 for 2024. The strong development is driven by improved delivery capacity. MAN, Mercedes-Benz, BYD, Iveco and Setra were the most purchased buses in Sweden in June 2025.
