Continental is set to present smart tyre and service solutions for more efficient and sustainable port logistics at TOC Europe 2025.
Promoting Sustainability in Port Logistics
This year at TOC Europe, Continental will focus on promoting sustainability and digital transformation of the port environment, as well as presenting tyre and digital technologies in line with its vision of “Smart Port – Better Flow.”
Federico Jiménez, Head of the Port Operation Tyres Business Field, explained: “We focus on the needs of our customers and provide them with tailor-made solutions. With our port tyres, we are already enabling more efficient, digital and sustainable operations – and are thus helping to shape the future.” Continental also aims to achieve carbon-neutral production by 2040, which is one of the four strategic pillars of its Vision 2030. By 2050 at the lates, all tyres are to be made from 100% sustainable materials.
TOC Europe 2025 will take place from June 17 to June 19, 2025, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Continental’s booth H20 will be located in Hall 1.
Holistic Solutions
Combining high-performance tyres with digital solutions is how Continental makes port operations more sustainable and efficient. Its holistic approach includes innovative technologies and sustainable products and services along the entire value chain, starting with the environmentally friendly materials to the tyres’ use phase.
Continental’s plant in Lousado, Portugal, was honoured at this year’s Tyre Technology International Awards for its environmentally friendly tyre production, and Continental was named the Tyre Manufacturer of the Year.
Continental TerminalMaster, specifically designed for port terminals, shows how robust tyre technology can deliver real operational benefits. With a deep tread and reinforced industrial carcass, it offers high resistance to external damage, while significantly extending tyre mileage.
Digital Solutions
ContiConnect helps port operators manage their fleets efficiently and transparently. It enables efficient digital tyre management that helps reduce CO2 emissions, where properly inflated tyres can save up to 1% of fuel and extend tyre life by up to 20%.
The ContiConnect Lite is a mobile-only solution that provides easy monitoring at no additional cost. ContiConnect Pro offers a comprehensive remote digital tyre management solution with real-time data analysis, automated monitoring and reporting, as well as data integration into external systems. ContiConnect Pro is designed for larger fleets with vehicles that frequently return to dedicated checkpoints or vehicles that require 24/7 real-time monitoring.
Smart Tyres
Continental is making its tyre expertise available to port operators, helping them further optimise port operations. As part of its Smart Tyre Consulting, tyre experts provide recommendations to optimise vehicle utilisation based on distance, speed and active time per trip or cycle. This helps customers improve their operational processes, resulting in optimised tyre usage and routing. It also provides recommendations on the right tyre based on analysed application data. Fleet operators benefit from increased visibility, prevention of premature tyre failure and extended tyre life.
Together, these solutions not only help reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) but also support port operators in achieving their environmental goals. That way, sustainability becomes a measurable factor and a clear competitive advantage in port operations.
