Triangle Tyre has unveiled a major overseas investment in Cambodia. This is to expand global production capacity, strengthen international competitiveness, and support long-term growth.
Tyre Manufacturing Investment Strengthens Cambodia’s Role in Global Supply
On 15 January 2026, Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd. officially announced a milestone overseas investment plan. They intend to invest RMB 3.219 billion (approximately £350m) in a new tyre manufacturing plant in Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia.
This move marks a new phase in the company’s globalisation strategy, as the expansion of overseas production capacity will significantly enhance its competitiveness in international markets.
Cambodia Plant to Boost Global Tyre Supply and Revenue Growth
Triangle Tyre will begin construction of the project in March 2026, utilising its independently developed advanced tyre manufacturing technology. They will design the plant to produce 6 million high-performance passenger-car tyres and 1 million commercial-vehicle tyres annually.
The products will primarily target stable-growth international markets, including North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Southeast Asia. Upon completion, Triangle Tyre expects the project to generate average annual revenue of approximately RMB 2.585 billion, with an internal rate of return of 15.1%.
Supporting Global Strategy Through Local Operations and Belt & Road Initiative
To advance the project, Triangle Tyre will establish a wholly owned local subsidiary responsible for its implementation and operation.
This investment is a key initiative by Triangle Tyre to actively respond to the national “Go Global” strategy and to participate deeply in the “Belt and Road Initiative”. It will accelerate the company’s global expansion, optimise its production, marketing, and supply chain networks, and enhance its core competitiveness.
This move is expected to open new market opportunities and drive future profit growth, strengthening the foundation for Triangle Tyre’s continued development in the global market.
