Sailun at RTX: Mileage, Durability and Sustainability

At Road Transport Expo (RTX), Kirkby Tyres, the exclusive importer of Sailun truck tyres in the UK and Ireland, will present the company’s latest technology and innovations.

The New Generation

Sailun EcoPoint³ technology showcases the company’s innovation in tyre manufacturing. At the core of this technology is liquid phase mixing, in development for over 10 years, a process that offers improved results in all three main constituent parts of the current European truck tyre label: rolling resistance (fuel efficiency), wet grip, and noise generation. There is also an improvement in wear resistance, which was nearly impossible to achieve earlier. The new liquid-phase technology also significantly reduces energy consumption during the manufacturing process, resulting in a lower CO₂ footprint (alongside improved fuel economy).

Kirkby Tyres will showcase this new generation of Sailun tyres at RTX 2025, where people will be able to see firsthand how the range can make a measurable difference to the fleet’s performance.

  • City Pro Z: An all-position tyre designed specifically for stop-start, urban operations, boasting Sailun’s revolutionary EcoPoint3 compound. Reinforced with dual kerbing bands and an increased load capacity, this tyre is designed for fleet operators aiming to reduce tyre costs and CO2 emissions.
  • Delivery Pro D: A directional tyre that provides traction and mileage performance in challenging regional applications. Designed for fleets operating mainly on A and B roads, the Delivery Pro D represents performance and safety in all weather conditions.
  • Transport Pro S: Manufactured using the pioneering EcoPoint3 compound, this steer axle tyre offers the rare combination of both fuel efficiency and high mileage. Designed mainly for use on highways, it allows fleet operators to prioritise sustainability without sacrificing quality or performance.
  • Transport Pro D: Providing traction in all weather conditions, the Transport Pro D offers improved mileage performance whilst reducing fuel consumption. A product derived from EcoPoint3 technology, designed for fleets mainly operating on highways.
  • SDM1: A directional, self-cleaning tyre providing traction for mixed service operations. The open grooves in the tread ensure the tyre remains cool during service, and any debris is dispelled from the tyre. The tread pattern design offers stability, preventing uneven wear and prolonging tyre life.
  • STR1+: Specifically designed for trailers used in regional operations. The four tread grooves provide improved handling, and the widened shoulder prevents uneven wear.
  • STM1: A mixed service all-position tyre perfectly suited for challenging operations. The tread pattern is self-cleaning, and the rubber compound resists cuts and punctures, improving tyre longevity. The unique shoulder design provides stability and allows the tyre to remain cool during service.
  • SFR1: A steer axle tyre ideally suited for both regional truck and bus applications. The SFR1 offers a widened running surface and robust shoulder, improving handling and preventing uneven wear. The unique design at the base of the tread allows improved manoeuvrability and driving comfort.
  • SDR1: Designed for regional applications, the SDR1 provides traction and durability in all weather conditions. The widened running surface provides stability, whilst the reinforcing rib between the tread pattern blocks improves rigidity and prevents partial wear.

The EcoPoint³ range is renowned for its mileage, robustness and fuel economy. Available from Kirkby Tyres in both Transport Pro S and Transport Pro D, these tyres are engineered for use on highways, delivering a balance of durability and cost-efficiency. EcoPoint³ and second-generation Sailun truck tyres are now available exclusively from Kirkby Tyres in the UK and Ireland.
