Mobility Sweden published its monthly report on commercial vehicle registrations, showing growth in the truck and bus segments.
Commercial Vehicle Registrations in Sweden: August 2025
According to Mobility Sweden, light commercial vehicle registrations continue to decline, with a total of 2,486 registrations in August 2025, representing a 4% decline. In the first eight months of 2025, the number of registrations declined by 21%, with 20,634 units. Volkswagen, Ford and Mercedes-Benz were the brands that recorded the highest numbers of registrations in August 2025.
Heavy truck registrations, on the other hand, slightly grew by 2.7% in August 2025, with 378 units registered. However, year-to-date data shows a 6% decline, with 3,189 registrations in the first eight months of the year. Scania, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz were the top three purchased trucks in August 2025.
Bus sector continues to grow strongly, with 259 registrations in August 2025, representing a 119% growth. Year-to-date data shows a 207% growth, with 1,426 units registered from January 2025 to August 2025. MAN, Mercedes-Benz and Solaris were the top three brands in this segment in August 2025.
