PCL’s Partner+ Programme Boosts Sales For Ballymena-Based Fyfes
With 16 branches across Northern Ireland, Fyfes sells quality products for the automotive and engineering industries, including a comprehensive selection of PCL airline fittings, air hose reels and tyre inflation equipment.
The company has stocked PCL products for over 50 years, and made the decision to sign up for the Partner+ initiative when it was launched 3 years ago.
Senior Buyer, James Allen, said; “Our relationship as a PCL Distributor began when Fyfes’ business got too big for our previous supplier, and we haven’t looked back since.
“All of our branches have stock from PCL. We buy in bulk and have contracts with bigger companies to supply their fittings. We have been running with PCL for so long now, we are recognised as PCL distributors and customers know where to go in Northern Ireland to get their fittings.
“When Partner+ started we were one of the first distributors to get on board and it means we have closer ties with PCL. We work well with PCL’s Area Sales Manager, Michael Dooker. He provides product training, so the guys at the counter are familiar with the product and part numbers, which counts for a lot. There is no hesitation in them being able to sell the PCL product.
“The marketing support from Ben Spotswood is good, I have got all my catalogues printed with the Fyfes branding on it, as well as PCL display mats with couplings and tail pieces for the counters.
“In the first quarter of this year our sales went up 84%. PCL couplings and adaptors counted for a substantial amount of the turnover, with half of this revolving around couplings and adaptors, and the rest from hose reels.
“I am comfortable with the brand, the quality and the back-up service. I want to sell product that does not come back, and make a good margin on it, and the proof is in the pudding - Partner+ and the PCL product have a positive effect on our business. Simple as that.”
