February VDA Figures Show Generally Positive Movement

Overall sales are up, but greener vehicles have seen a decline in Non-BEV sales

Germany’s VDA’s latest figures for vehicle sales for February show a slight month on month increase from 2022, but the year to date shows no overall variation.

However, it is notable that German Electric (BEV, PHEV and FCEV) are down in total by 20 per cent this year, though pure BEV do show an increase.

Commercial vehicles, across the board are showing increases in registrations, though trailer sales are down by 10 per cent this year to date.

The biggest gains are in the 3.5 – 6 ton class and the 6 – 16 ton class, with year to date increases of 48 and 25 per cent respectively. Trailers may be  down 10 per cent overall, though semi-trailers are only down 2 per cent.
