Truck tyre imports to Spain from Asia

According to the data obtained by the National Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADINE), imports of truck tyres grew by 41.8% in the first six months of the year, with a total of 255,050 imported units, where imports from Thailand stand out especially, up by 92%.

On the other hand, imports of agricultural tyres showed a decrease of 4.6% compared to H1 in 2021, with a total of 117,900 imported units, of which 63,270 units (54%) coming mainly from India.

And finally, imports of Asian tyres for construction and mining also saw, between January and June, a decrease of 4.8%, compared to the same period of the previous year. With 42% (27,000 units) coming from India and 40% (25,860 units) from China.

In the month of June, imports of truck tyres registered an increase of 23.7% compared to June 2021, with a total of 47,280 units imported, highlighting, among others the growth of imports from Thailand (+85.9%), South Korea (+53.4%) and Japan (+88.8%).

Imports of agricultural tyres decreased in June by 42.1% compared to a year previous, with a total of 13,540 imported units, as 54% were imported from India.

And finally, imports of Asian construction and mining tyres increased by 11.8% with 8,700 units imported in comparison to a year ago, highlighting, among others, the growth of imports from Vietnam (+6,300%).
