After a stronger March, April saw a year-on-year dip in tractor and agricultural machinery registrations, in the latest Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (the Ministry for Agriculture, Fishing and Food) statistics.
Tractor Market Sees Reduced Registrations for April
There were 757 tractors sold in April 2022, which was well below the 970 units recorded last April making for a 21.96% drop. Agricultural machinery fared slightly better, with 1,415 units against 1,549 for the previous April representing a 8.65% decrease. Looking to the first four months, 3,213 tractors were registered against 3,573 units in the same four-month period of 2021 – which is a drop of just over 10%. 5,842 units of agricultural equipment were recorded in the same period against 6,189 the previous year, making for a 5.61% dip.
Andalucía continues to be ahead of the other regions in April as a quarter of the share of tractor registrations were seen with 167 tractors and 22 Agricultural machinery units recorded. Cataluña registered 67 tractors and 16 units of agricultural machinery for the month as well.
