The British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) has confirmed that this year’s edition will be run exclusively on Giti Race-Tuned v1 global competition truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.

Giti Tire Retains role as BTRC’s Official Tyre Partner

The new deal means that Giti Tire tyres will be fitted on all 20 trucks across seven events which make up the 2022 season. The manufacturer will also have two fully liveried trucks in all races thanks to Team Oliver, which will be driven by Stuart Oliver and his son, Michael Oliver.

The season opener took place at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 16-17th April, with the team securing both a first and second place finish over the five races.

The next round takes place at Pembrey on 7-8th May before continuing onto Thruxton, Donington, Snetterton, Pembrey again and the season conclusion back at Brands Hatch on 6-7th November.

Three of the races coincide with hugely popular family events, Convoy Cymru, Convoy on the Plain and Convoy in the Park, which feature a range of truck, manufacturer and exhibitor displays.

Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, said: “We’ve had an excellent partnership with the BTRC for many years, and to take it forward into 2022 as exclusive tyre supplier really is a huge privilege and a massive boost for the Giti brand.

“As well as all the excellent marketing and social media opportunities it represents, we know that many of the teams find themselves working day-to-day in the transport sector. Once they’ve experienced the Giti Race-Tuned v1 they doubtless want to know more about the truck and bus portfolio.”
