Giro d’Italia Expecting Millions of Viewers Worldwide for Famed Event

The Giro d’Italia 2022 marks its 105th year, and for the first time, the Grande Partenza kick-off starts from Eastern Europe. After moving swiftly through Hungary, riders will continue their 3,410-kilometre journey beneath the shadow of Sicily’s Mount Etna, where they’ll endeavour to sprint through hills, mountains and valleys up the spine of the Italian peninsula before reaching the finish line in Verona.

Elio Bartoli, President EMEA & Global OEM at Trelleborg Wheel Systems, ushered in the news by stating: “We are proud to bring the Trelleborg brand to one of the most impressive sporting and social events in the world. The Giro d’Italia tour has an enthusiastic international and local following, with spectators in remote areas lining the course to see the riders speed by.”

Concluding on Trelleborg’s role, he added,” Our sponsorship is another way for us to be closer to our customers and end-users – on and off the fields. Trelleborg will be creating exciting experiences for participants at each of the 21 stages along the tour, offering hospitality areas and sharing in the spirit of the day with sports fans.”

Roberta D’Agnano, EMEA Marketing Director at Trelleborg Wheel Systems, also welcomed the news, saying: “This partnership is a perfect fit for Trelleborg. All of us are in it for the long haul, looking to meet any challenge that comes our way – and excel. We pride ourselves in forging close bonds with the people and the territories where we work, sharing the same values as the Giro d’Italia when it comes to pursuing our passion, demonstrating top performance and showing respect for our planet.”

For racing spectators, they can discover the location of Trelleborg’s hospitality stands by looking for the date and location nearest to them along the Giro d’Italia route.
