Richard Gifford, currently ranked 16th for the 2022 world championships, has entered into a sponsorship agreement with CAM for the 2022 season, as CAM tips the player to become a prospective World Champion.
CAM Sponsorship Part of Ongoing CSR and Brand Awareness Programme
Gifford has earned his stripes over the last 4 years. In 2018, he scored a second-place finish at the World Team Championship, competing for Wales. More recently, Gifford and his partner only just missed out on the quarter-finals of the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup. His matches also proved to be some of the most hotly contested within the tournament.
The sponsorship agreement with CAM will enable Richard to focus on his cue skills. He will aim to finish in the top 16 of the Ultimate Pool Challenger Series, which means granted pro status for the 2023 season.
Ryan Naughton, director of operations of CAM, commented, “Pool is a growing sport both in the UK and around the world, so we’re delighted to support one of the UK’s top players. We see that Richard has a lot of potential and hope our sponsorship will help propel him up the rankings and towards some great results at the major tournaments.”
Richard Gifford, thrilled at the sponsorship, added, “I’m delighted to have the backing of CAM, and its support will enable me to invest in my development as a pool player. This means I will be able to spend more time on the practice table working on a situational play that will lead me to have the confidence to achieve the best results I can during the Ultimate Pool Challenger Series and the European and World Championships.
