March is traditionally a strong month for tractor sales in the UK. According to the latest figures released by the AEA, there were 1,976 tractor units registered in March 2022, which is 5.2% below 2021 levels when 2,085 sales were recorded. As this is the third consecutive drop in statistics, 2022 sales levels so far remain just behind the 2021 benchmark.

Minor Year-on-Year Dip in Sales for First Quarter

Looking at the first quarter, there were 3,047 units sold so far this year. Over the same period in 2021 3,259 units were registeredin which represents a drop in sales for 2022 by 6.5%. The good news for this period is that the losses for February and March were much smaller than the dip registered in January this year, which is reason for optimism.
