For the Solvalla horse racing track in Stockholm, Sweden – the largest track of its kind in the Nordics – track inspector Markus Peterson has found that the Nokian Ground King tyre has proved effective at helping level the truck for racing.

“To speed up the track maintenance, we considered buying track-driven tractors”, Markus Peterson says. “After a test drive with the Nokian Tyres Ground King tyre, I found that its stability and damping properties made it easier and faster to level the track.”
As well as general stability, abrasion resistance and the capability for high speeds are key factors for racetrack maintenance work. “There is not much time to prepare the track between the races”, Peterson explains. “When driving with implements, these tyres offer a much better grip that helps to avoid skidding that leads to potholes on the track.”
Compared to their previous tyres, the Nokian Tyres Ground King range has impressed Peterson on all surfaces. He explains, “I have driven the tyre on wet and dry gravel and tarmac, and I am more than happy. The stability, the driving comfort and the speed are the best that I have driven”.
