Looking to different road conditions and legislation, Nokian Tyres has unveiled three additional tyre sizes.
Nokian Tyres Looks to Central European, Alpine and Nordic Road Requirements for New Tyres
Starting with the Nokian Tyres’ Hakka Truck Trailer in size 275/70R22.5, this tyre is suitable for heavy trucks that need dual wheels. Explaining the inspiration behind the tyre, Teppo Siltanen, Product Manager at Nokian Tyres said, “We introduced the Nokian Tyres Hakka Truck Trailer range in the summer of 2021. The reception has been very positive among people who transport dangerous goods, liquids or bulk in the most challenging road and weather conditions.”
He also added, “Its impressive service life, smooth rolling and excellent grip continue the tradition of safe, sustainable and economical mileage offered by the Nokian Tyres Hakka Truck range of premium tyres, replacing the previous Nokian Tyres Hakka 844+ range.”
Nokian Tyres’ Hakkapeliitta E2 now has a 275/70R22.5 size, which is aimed mainly at Nordic and Alpine regions, where road conditions may suddenly get extreme.
Siltanen added about the new size, “The new Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta E2 is a drive axle tyre for extreme winter conditions, such as in Norway and the Alpine region.” The Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta E2 is a winter tyre for drive axle, reducing the need for chains as it has grip, longevity, durability and low rolling resistance.
The final new tyre line is the Nokian Tyres E-Truck Trailer XL in size 385/65R22.5, which Siltanen explains suits loads of up to 10 tons. Suitable for Central Europe, as well as less severe Nordic terrains, the new XL model offers high load-bearing capacity for Super Single truck trailers.
A notable feature of many commercial tyres by Nokian Tyres is the availability of compatible Noktop retreads. With their identical tread pattern and highly controlled curing process, the retreaded Noktop tyres offer properties that are very close to the original tyre. Noktop retreads are available for all Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta E2 and Nokian Tyres Hakka Truck Trailer tyre sizes as well as for other most common tyre sizes.
