Year-on-Year Data for Truck and Bus Registrations in Spain Decline during August
The Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (Spanish Association for truck and car Manufacturers), ANFAC has published its latest registration data for the market for August 2021 as year-on-year statistics registered declines across the industrial vehicle, light commercial vehicle and bus sectors. Notwithstanding these declines, industrial vehicles and light commercial vehicles remain significantly ahead of the 2020 year-to-date performance.
22% More Industrial Vehicle Registrations by End of August 2021
Starting with the industrial vehicle segment, ANFAC reported 1029 registrations during the month of August, which represented an 8% decrease on the 1118 units sold respectively in 2020. Irrespective of the year-on-year decrease, the segment remained 22% ahead of 2020 as 13,270 registrations were made between January 1st and August 31st, 2021.
The pattern seen in the industrial vehicle segment is one which has been mirrored in the light commercial vehicle sector with the sector reporting a 28.57% year-on-year decrease in registrations, as it maintained a 15.78% lead on the year-to-date data.
Moving onto the bus and minibus sector, this sector continued being the most impacted sector by the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2021 with a 61% drop in year-on-year registrations with 39 units registered over the course of the month. The outlook for the bus and minibus sector still remains gloomy with it lagging 20% behind 2020’s standpoint, a year which saw the beginning of the economic turmoil triggered by the pandemic.
