Hankook Tire Supplies Sizes for Original Fitment on Daimler Trucks

Hankook and Daimler AG have extended their collaboration once again, marking nearly a decade-long partnership. The Hankook original fitment portfolio for Daimler AG includes the tyre families; e-cube MAX for long-haul traffic, SmartWork for construction site applications and SmartFlex as an all-year solution.  

Hankook Tire Provides Tyres to Daimler AG 

The tyre maker supplies for original fitment for the European market, including the complete Mercedes-Benz Actros family and Atego series. This includes 12 sizes of 17.5 and 19.5 inch SmartFlex all-year tyres.

Hankook’s original fitment portfolio for the Stuttgart-based truck manufacturer starts with ten sizes for the Atego series. They are availabe in in 17.5 and 19.5 inch versions of the all-year tread SmartFlex AH35 for the steering axle and SmartFlex DH35 for the drive axle. Tyre maker Hankook has been supplying its original equipment (OE) portfolio in the medium duty and heavy commercial vehicle segment, as part of its existing OE agreements for the Mercedes-Benz truck model range: Actros, Arocs, Econic and Atego with the company currently providing a total of 33 dimensions of original equipment for Daimler AG in Europe.  

The portfolio includes the Hankook treads AL10+ e-cube MAX, DL10+ e-cube MAX as well as the SmartFlex AH31 and SmartFlex DH31- all of which have been specially developed for the European market. Supplying the OE tyre solutions in the medium duty and heavy duty truck segment has helped the manufacturer to strengthen the Hankook brand in the European truck tyre market and is yet another milestone in the company’s endeavour for sustainable growth.

As for the product features, Multi-3D sipes anchored in the tread guarantee high traction for the SmartFlex treads AH35 and DH35 and the mixture of straight and wave-shaped tread grooves improves water discharge and reduces the aquaplaning risk. The tyres also have the M+S marking and 3PFMS symbol (snowflake) document highlighting their suitability for wintry weather conditions. In addition, the high rigidity of the tread blocks promotes fuel-saving. As well as this, the special tread design supports even tyre abrasion and combined with the wide contact area, the SmartFlex treads offer an enhanced tyre life.
