Apollo Unveils Its First North American Tyre Line


Apollo is looking for ‘servicing dealers’ for its distribution network, reports Modern Tire Dealer.

Apollo Sets Sight on the North American Truck Tyre Market

Apollo Tyres has rolled out Apollo brand medium truck tyres in America after five years of extensive real-world testing of the tyres by trucking fleets across various locations, explained Abhishek Bisht, Apollo’s Assistant Vice President of the Americas.

“The plan is for the tyres to be physically available in the U.S. and Canada, starting in May,” noted Bisht, who also heads Apollo’s Vredestein consumer tyre brand in North America. “North America is clearly one of the largest medium truck tyre markets in the and it is one of the most sophisticated. We’ve been eyeing this market for quite some time and we’ve been preparing to launch for almost five years. We've done a lot of research to understand the relationships and decision-making parameters to draw up a very strong value proposition for both dealers and fleets.”

According to Apollo, phase one of the launch will see the introduction of regional and “super-regional” truck tyres, as well as tyres for mixed and severe service applications. Phase two, which is scheduled to start 10 to 12 months after the beginning of phase one, will include the roll-out of long-haul tyres.
