With this latest bid, Yokohama is still very much on the lookout for an acquisition that will boost the company’s profile. Earlier this year, Yokohama chose the formal global head of Prometeon, Gregorio Borgo, to be its CEO of Yokohama Europe.

Negotiations at this stage are tight-lipped, with Commercial Tyre Business paying close attention to the subsequent steps from both Yokohama and Trelleborg Wheel Systems.
