Yokohama Makes USD 2 Billion Offer for Trelleborg Wheel Systems

Yokohama-Bids-for-Trelleborg

To further support Yokohama Groups’ OTR tyre operations, the Japanese-based manufacturer is planning to further expand the business after successful launches in North America and Europe of its full tyre range, in news reported from Dackavisen.se.

Yokohama OHT Looking at Acquisitions in Tyre Sector

Dackavisen.Se has also reported that in 2019, Yokohama made a bid for Prometeon. After several discussion stages, the deal ultimately came to nothing. With this latest bid, Yokohama is still very much on the lookout for an acquisition that will boost the company’s profile. Earlier this year, Yokohama chose the formal global head of Prometeon, Gregorio Borgo, to be its CEO of Yokohama Europe.

Negotiations at this stage are tight-lipped, with Commercial Tyre Business paying close attention to the subsequent steps from both Yokohama and Trelleborg Wheel Systems.
