Adding two new tyres to its Powersports Line, Powersports Product Manager, Todd Hinson added that “these tyres are ideal candidates for workhorse Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) that need a proven tyre with additional load carrying capacity, as well as increased traction and durability.”
Sturdy Tyres Suit Demanding Applications
Starting with the 489 XD, the tyre has a robust bias construction, making it suitable for demanding applications. The V-shaped lug design maintains a smooth ride while offering good clean-out characteristics. Todd explained, “We have taken the proven 489 tread pattern and developed it into an 8 ply rated carcass, coupled with additional tread depth to create a product that exceeds today's needs in the UTV market.”
With the Dura Trail, the tyre has a radial 8 ply option to offer heightened performance and durability over OE tyres, explains Rhett Turpin, Director of Powersports Sales at the Carlstar Group. Suitable for utilitarian needs, the radial carcass design delivers a comfortable trail-complaint ride. The rubber compound and overlapping tread pattern also provide a smooth, comfortable ride.
