Agritechnica has been cancelled for 2022 after careful consideration from the organisers, the VDMA Landtechnik and the Agritechnica exhibitor advisory, and citing the pandemic and regulations uncertainty, the team in collaboration with the DLG (German Agricultural Society) have decided that exhibiting in 2022 poses too great a risk. The planning is now for Agritechnica 2023, which will take place between November 12-18.
Agricultural Event Cancelled Due to Severe Uncertainty Across Europe
In a surprising, but not totally unexpected twist of events, Agritechnica has been cancelled. The event, which would have taken place in the spring of 2022, is one of the largest for professional networking and innovations related to agricultural technology and sustainability in the field.
The disappointment was palpable for the organisers. Acknowledging the worsening Covid-19 situation, Reinhard Grandke, General Manager of the DLG explained that the decision was mutually made to ensure the safety of the exhibitors and the attendees. Grandke explained, "We deeply regret the cancellation. Many of our exhibitors, partners, visitors and members as well as our entire DLG team have already done great preparatory work." Adding that with Agritechnica 2023 now confirmed, the DLG will focus on other events taking place this coming year in the meantime.
Organisers Announce Prizes for Cancelled Ceremony and Prepare for 2023 Event
Agritechnica Project Manager, Freya von Czettritz, concluded the comments on 2022's cancellation - "The decision to cancel Agritechnica is particularly difficult for us, as many companies have specifically prepared for the world's leading trade fair with their innovations."
Focusing on the positives, von Czettritz said, "There is still an opportunity to focus on the innovations in the agricultural engineering sector. That is why we have announced the winners of the leading innovation award in international agricultural technology as planned. Our thanks go to the DLG Innovation Commission, which has awarded one gold and 16 silver medals to outstanding innovations. ”All of the award-winning innovations are published on Agritechnica's website, with the awards will be officially presented by the DLG next year.
Agritechnica's digital offer, which started in November 2021, will be available as planned until the end of March 2022 on the digital platform "DLG-Connect", where visitors will have the latest offers and information from agricultural technology manufacturers at their fingertips. Equally, visitors can participate in digital events and network with companies and farmers, which will help offer guests who were planning to attend 2022's event have an opportunity to stay in the know before Agritechnica 2023.
