Kerr’s Tyre Group has finalised the purchase of one of Portadown’s most respected independent garages, Auto Bann.

Kerr’s Tyres Group has continued to make inroads in Northern Ireland, with the company acquiring its first site in Portadown, located beside the train station. Taking over Auto Bann, Kerr’s Tyres & Auto has also announced that it will open a 12 bay workshop within the site to service the local community. All Auto Bann employees will now join Kerr’s Tyres & Auto with Centre Manager, Andrew Litter remaining in his post.
Brian Patterson, Group Retail Director of Kerr’s Tyres Group explained the inspiration behind the move:
“There are many synergies between Auto Bann and Kerr’s Tyres & Auto that made this an attractive acquisition for the Group. Both are family businesses with a long history of customer excellence and like Kerr’s Tyres Group, Auto Bann has a strong and loyal customer base who will continue to be served by the same dedicated team.
Welcoming Auto Bann to the fold, Patterson added, “I’d like to welcome the Auto Bann team to Kerr’s Tyres & Auto family which now encompasses more than 150 employees across 19 locations in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.”
Finally, Patterson explained the strategic advantage of coming to Portadown, noting, “Whilst we have service centres across Northern Ireland, we felt we needed a presence in Portadown, making it easier for our customers to experience our province-wide services. Through the award-winning team, we look forward to bringing Kerr’s Tyres & Auto way of doing business to motorists throughout the province.”
Andrew Litter, who now becomes Centre Manager at Kerr’s Tyres & Auto, Portadown said:
