Central Tyre Continues its Growth with its New Sales Director

Alex Whittle has been appointed as Central Tyre’s new Sales Director, following a successful growth period within the UK market. He will be responsible for all sales operations across the car, van, truck, industrial and agricultural sectors. 

New Sales Director for Central Tyre’s UK Market 

With over 10-years of experience in the industry, Alex previously had sales experience within the commercial and industrial business unit at Prometeon Tyre Group UK Ltd and fleet management at Pirelli. Most recently, he worked sales manager for the UK, Eire and Nordics at Pirelli. Alex holds a degree in business management with Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University. 

Alex said: “To move to a service provider was something that had always interested me – in my opinion it’s the most difficult sector of the industry to get right, but also the most rewarding as you can see the tangible benefits of the processes you put in place. Quite quickly I’ve realised that there’s huge potential for the business – Central Tyre today offer a tremendous service for their regional and national customer bases and this is driven by the experienced and well respected staff across the entire network. 

“I’m looking forward to exploring the opportunities in the market and being part of this exciting growth strategy for Central Tyre.” 

Andrew Montgomery, Operational Director at Central Tyre commented: “We are delighted that Alex has taken up this role. We have ambitious growth plans and Alex was the ideal person to be leading this from a sales perspective. In the last 18 months at Central Tyre we have focused heavily on our operational model, at both centre and regional management level, following a full restructure we have successfully implemented a ‘hub manager’ concept throughout the network. 

“With the right people in place and with the model working efficiently our business is no doubt moving in a positive direction. Naturally, our next step was to then review our approach to market and that starts with bringing Alex in to develop our sales function.”
