Continental has announced that it will supply its intelligent tyres in the size 385/55 R22.5 and 385/65 R22.5 as original equipment for the new refrigerated vehicle, the Evolution from Lecitrailer. Lecitrailer are known as one of the most important manufacturers of trailers and semi-trailers in Europe and the launch has coincided with its 30th anniversary.
Lecitrailer Equip New Vehicle with Continental's Tyres
Lecitrailer's clients that acquire the new refrigerated vehicle, the Evolution will benefit from the use of Continental's intelligent tyres and its multiple advantages. The tyres will be equipped with sensors that transmit data in real time about pressure and temperature and provide the user with the possibility of integrating this information in its fleet management system in order to make diagnostics and remote maintenance.
With this information, the vehicles will be able to circulate with the correct tyre pressure, optimising driving, reducing fuel consumption and furthermore limiting CO2 emissions. As well as this the life of the tyre is increased, which further limits downtime. All of this results in a noticeable efficiency in terms of fleet management and a reduction in operating costs. Additionally, the telematic systems allow the monitoring of these tyres, even when they are not equipped to the tractor, avoiding many incidents in the collection of the semi-trailers.
Give that the information captured by the tyre sensors is shown immediately and uses alerts through a telematic system, users of the Evolution will be able to take instant action to prevent tyre incidents, optimise their performance and guarantee their safety, whilst simultaneously minimising breakdowns. Moreover, Continental's tyres aim to deliver a leap forward in tyre management, since it avoids the need to carry out some manual maintenance operations, which therefore optimises times in the tyre shops and makes the operation of vehicle management more profitable.
The new Evolution from the Spanish manufacturer is more resistant and modern than the previous generation. The model bets on improvements in its structure, both internally and externally without increasing the weight of the vehicle. In addition it has a higher loading capacity, thanks to the greater interior width between baseboards and panels. With the start on-demand manufacturing of this refrigerated vehicle, Lecitrailer will stop producing its previous model.
