The new Kenda tyres are the third generation of the well-performing and proven STARCO KargoTrail and MasterTrail tyres. Hence, Kenda becomes STARCO’s key supplier of trailer tyres in the European market.
Kenda Trailer Tyre Range Launched by Starco
When Kenda acquired STARCO in the autumn 2017, it was obvious that Kenda’s tyre manufacturing capabilities and capacity were a good match with STARCO’s market-leading position as supplier to European trailer manufacturers.
“We initiated the talk with key OEM customers back in the autumn 2018,” says Shaun Jones, Segment Director, STARCO Trailer & Caravan. He continues: “So, many key OEM customers have already seen the first Kenda tyre samples and the feedback is unanimously positive.”
The Kenda KR101 Mastertrail 3G and Kenda KR209 KargoTrail 3G are improvements of the well-performing and proven STARCO-range. For instance, the compound and tread depth have been improved providing longer mileage, better wet grip and improved rolling resistance.
“Several key OEM customers have commented on the quality feel and appearance,” states Shaun Jones, Segment Director, STARCO Trailer & Caravan. He continues: “They have also recognised the value of the improved tyre label performance ratings.”
STARCO also launches the Kenda KR500 Winter Trailer a trailer tyre for all road conditions and particularly strong in the wet and will still supply the premium GT tyres and the range the company offers today. STARCO anticipates the first new tyres to arrive at the customers’ in March. All steel wheels are still STARCO developed and manufactured in-house.
The Kenda KR101 MasterTrail 3G is a tyre for single axle trailers, tandem trailers, triaxles and heavy-duty applications. It is characterised by its high loading capacity due its strong carcass design and optimised mileague due to free rolling tyre construction. With a special designed tread, it emits low levels of noise, with its high sipe density maximising all season performance. Additionally, the tyre offers excellent air rentention due to the enhanced inner liner compound.
Furthermore, the Kenda KR209 KargoTrail 3G has been launched as a tyre for single axle trailers and mid-range tandem trailers with it offering good load capacity due to its robust carcass design. Its optimised mileage is delivered due to free rolling tyre (FRT) construction and like the KR101 MasterTrail 3G provides low noise and good wet grip due to a uniquely designed tread. The high sipe density enhances its all season performance as well.
