Vacu-Lug Support The Midland Doctors Charity

Midland Doctors Charity

Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres Ltd has pledged its support to The Midland Doctors Charity, with a donation to the organisation, which was set up to help the community of Pakistan following the devastating earthquake of 2005.

Vacu-Lug Sponsors Medical Chariry

Unlike other charities working in Pakistan, Midland Doctors is led by NHS doctors, senior consultants and business leaders, who provide a vital lifeline in their medical care. Following the earthquake, doctors from the Midlands formed a trauma team and between themselves treated 1,000 people in just 4 days, providing immediate on-the-ground medical support.

Five years on, floods devastated parts of South Pakistan and Midland Doctors again reacted with immediate support to save lives and offer their skills and expertise. Today Midland Doctors continues to work actively to provide a positive impact to healthcare in Pakistan for the less privileged.

In 2013, Midland Doctors set up their own hospital – run on a charitable basis – for the communities of North Pakistan.  This 100-bed Medical Institute was founded in Kashmir, close to the seat of the earthquake and it has seen over 32,000 patients pass through its doors to date.

Speaking of the reasons behind Vacu-Lug’s decision to support the charity, Executive Chairman Harjeev Kandhari said: “We are pleased to offer our support to the team at Midland Doctors who work tirelessly to provide medical management and care to people left devastated by natural disasters. The charity acts as a beacon of hope at a time when it is most needed and saves countless lives through their efforts.”
