Lapin Kumi, a part of Citira tyre service chain, has recently acquired three companies: Rengas-Heikki, Daniek and Päijät-Kumi.
Rengas-Heikki
In October last year, Lapin Kumi acquired Rengas-Heikki, a tyre shop in Oulu, northern Finland, founded in 1999, expanding Lapin Kumi’s operations and advancing Citira’s growth across northern Europe.
“Lapin Kumi has operated in the Oulu area for fifteen years, and we have recently wanted to increase our capacity in the passenger vehicle segment. Rengas-Heikki has been known for its excellent work in the Oulu area for decades. Petri and Ilpo have built the company into a well-established tyre service provider, and it is a pleasure to continue their work and take it forward together,” says Ville Ruokanen, CEO of Lapin Kumi.
“The decision to sell was made thoughtfully and with confidence. Lapin Kumi has broader shoulders and excellent resources to further grow and develop the business. Through this merger, we can offer our customers even better service, a wider range, and stronger tyre expertise. We wanted to ensure that our company’s future is in stable and growth-oriented hands. Lapin Kumi is a respected company with the same values and customer-centred approach as we have at Rengas-Heikki,” says Petri Haipus, CEO of Suomen Rengas-Heikki.
Daniek
A couple of days ago, Lapin Kumi also acquired Daniek, a tyre service provider, founded in 1990 with roots dating back to 1986 in Tammisaari, based in Jyväskylä, central Finland.
“This acquisition strengthens Lapin Kumi’s position in southern Finland and adds a new service location in Tammisaari to our network. At the same time, we are expanding into a Swedish-speaking region and will be able to serve an even broader customer base, including customers coming from the Helsinki metropolitan area. Tammisaari forms an important southern link for us,” says Ville Ruokanen.
“We have extensive experience and a long history in the industry, which provides a strong basis for the future. Through Lapin Kumi, we will gain even better resources to develop our operations. Business will continue in Tammisaari as usual, and good customer service will remain our top priority,” says Mats Danielsson of Daniek.
Daniek will continue to operate in its current location with the same team, as part of Lapin Kumi, and the current owners will become co-owners of Citira.
Päijät-Kumi
The company also acquired Päijät-Kumi, a tyre service provider in Jyväskylä, central Finland. Päijät-Kumi is a family-owned business founded in 1991. In 2008, Päijät-Kumi entered a new phase when ownership was passed to the next generation, and in 2022, Päijät-Kumi moved to a new location in Keljon Eteläportti.
“Päijät-Kumi is a well-managed company with a strong history and an established position in the industry. Their longstanding efforts and professional staff provide an excellent platform for the future. We want to ensure that their achievements will continue to be built upon in the years to come,” says Ville Ruokanen.
We feel that 2026 is the right time to become part of the expanding Lapin Kumi group. Through this transaction, we will gain even better opportunities to develop our operations and to offer our customers the best possible service. We are very much looking forward to the journey ahead together with our entire staff,” says Jussi Vuoristo of Päijät-Kumi.
Päijät-Kumi will continue to operate in its current location with the same team, as part of Lapin Kumi. The current owners will become co-owners of Citira. The transaction will be completed in January 2026.
